James Bates, Managing Director has in depth experience of the office and business supplies business.Since taking over the reins in 1989 he has been responsible for developing the business to meet the requirements of SMBs and major corporates alike and engendering a culture of quality across all aspects of the business. He is passionate about developing the business in ways that will better serve the needs of customers formally introducing the Buy store deliver addded value service in 2011 and acquiring the exclusive UK distributorship of Pargaraph Paper in 2014.
Cathy Whitaker, Assistant Director has been a valued member of the Solcrown senior management team for over 20 years. She has overall responsibilty for management of the Customer Service and Warehouse and Distribution Teams as well as with the many suppliers with who the Company trades. Her procurement knowledge and expertise is extensive. Cathy also has day to day responsibility for the Company's ISO 9000 accreditation and FSC certification.
Customer Services cover all accounting, purchasing and operational matters including the management of the Company's ISO 9000 accreditation and FSC certification. The team has considerable procurement experience and in depth expertise in fulfilling specific customer requirements no matter how unusual. Members of the team work in close collaboration with both the Sales and Warehouse and Distribution Teams to ensure that the customer experience is of the highest quality and seamless.
Sales and Account Management comprises a team with over 100 years of collective experience in the industry. Sales representatives have account management responsibility and liaise with customers both on the phone and in meetings. They handle all aspects of the customer relationship inlcuding, pricing, product recommendations, special orders and offers, samples as well as setting up and providing ongoing support for the online ordering system SOLO.
Warehouse and Distribution operations operate on an almost 24 hour basis with stock of core office supplies and paper items warehoused and in the case of FSC certified paper managed to maintain the all important chain of custody that is at the heart of the certification process. Solcrown operates its own fleet of vans which are employee operated to ensure the required customer service levels are maintained.
Warehouse Nightshift is repsonsible for the picking and packaging of all orders for next day delivery. The team also ensures that all customers orders are correctly loaded by designated van route.
